What is the Big KnoxVenture Race?

The Big KnoxVenture Race is presented by Pilot, and it is a team-based race through downtown Knoxville that uses the physical, mental, and creative strengths of participants to complete different challenges at stops along the course.

Who can participate?

Anyone with a pair of tennis shoes, a sense of adventure and an interest in health can participate in KnoxVenture. Oh, and a little competitiveness doesn’t hurt either. So, if you’re a hardcore runner or just someone who wants to get off the couch, this race is for you.

When is the race?

Saturday September 24, 2011 at 10 a.m.

Where does the race start?

Check-in and pre-race ceremonies will take place in the Square Room in Market Square. Teams will take off and finish at the stage in Market Square.

Where does the race course go?

The race is centered in downtown Knoxville. Your team will discover downtown businesses and unique stops in the city. The course is approximately a 5k in distance, but it depends on the route your team takes.

What is the Sports Buddies program that the race benefits?

The Sports Buddies program pairs disadvantaged children with adult mentors that have a shared interest in sports. Mentors help children build confidence, enjoy new experiences and learn life skills through the fun of sports.
